| Russell A. Swain, CEO
 According
to Russell A. Swain, the insurance business just runs in the family. He grew up
learning about insurance and sureties from his father, Russell E. Swain, and was
given the chance to officially join the business in 1979, when he joined George
L. Brown Insurance & Associates just after graduating from high school. He
left the agency for a short time to continue his training with the Fireman’s
Fund Insurance Company as an underwriter trainee. Swain returned to the agency
in 1983 to work with his father, and quickly became a principal a short five years
later. Swain became company president in 2002, and has continued to lead the agency
to additional years of steady growth and a notable reputation, both locally and
nationally.
Swain obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation
in 1997. A respected member of the community, Swain served as president of the
Independent Agents of Southern Nevada from 1990 to 1991 and currently serves on
its State Board of Directors. Swain is also a member of the Nevada Contractors
Association, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau.
Among his numerous efforts in the community, Swain is held
in high regard for his continued work with the Las Vegas Rotary Club where he
has been an active member since 1994. President of the Rotary Club’s “25
Club” in 1995, he is currently a member of its Board of Directors, where
he has served since 1997. Past president of the Executive Development Association,
Swain also served as president of the distinguished association in 1997.
In his free time, Swain enjoys snow skiing, boating, motorcycles, bird hunting,
ATV’s, and spending time with his son and daughter.
